The 2012 Flyers track & field season has begun!  If you're ready to join for the summer, here's what to do.  If you're not sure yet, then we invite you to attend a few practices first (but please bring a completed information/waiver form with you).  If you have any questions about the Flyers, please feel free to ask any of our Coaches & Volunteers.  We look forward to seeing you at practice!

Flyers throws coaches Patty Mata and Bianca Mata will not be at practice on Tuesday, May 29, Wednesday, May 30, Thursday, May 31, and Monday, June 4.

Need shoes?  Try the Flyers shoe exchange program, where club members can get new and used track and field event shoes at reduced prices.  For more information or to buy a pair, contact Andrea Otte.  Used shoes in good condition can also be donated to help raise money for the club.  Also, Peak Performance offers a 15% shoe discount to Flyer members at their 78th & Cass location.  Just mention that you're a member of the Flyers to receive the discount.

The USATF Missouri Valley Association will be conducting a triathlon, pentathlon, heptathlon, and decathlon clinic and competition at St. Teresa's Academy in Kansas City, Missouri. The clinic will be Tuesday, May 29 and Wednesday, May 30 and the competition will be Thursday, May 31 and Friday, June 1. For more information, go here.

The Flyers are hosting the Nebraska Junior Olympic Championships at Burke High School on June 16 and 17.  This is largest youth meet in the state, with over 700 athletes competing.  Flyer parents, families, and alumni are encouraged to volunteer.

34 former Flyers are competing in track & field, cross country, and other sports at colleges and universities across the country.  (If any names are missing, let us know.)

14 Flyer kids competed in 30 events at the 2011 Nebraska and Iowa state track meets, winning a total of 23 medals, including 4 bronze, 4 silver, and 8 gold -- 6 all-class!

Two Flyer athletes are in a USA Track & Field promotional video: Alexandria Gochenour (at 1:17, 2:30, and 4:37) and McKayla Roberts (2:20).
